"Why is it that with such a complicated mounting system and set up (so you can actually find a distant object in the night sky) you get such a small set of instructions on how to mount this scope? There are a couple of pictures and a horrible set of instructions on how to set up this scope, and no instructions on how to use all the dials and adjustment knobs. And the DVD has great constellations, but no info on how to use the software! I think I am a pretty intelligent guy, but I have NO idea how to use the software to tell me how to find a planet or star in the sky to look at with this fine telescope. I am however able to see some great images of the moon!"

I tried refractors, great for earthbound viewing. If you choose to view the heaven's, reflector scopes are the way to go.
Meade 114 Telescope

Great product for a beginner. High quality and very easy to set up. Instrtuctions were easy to follow and the provided CD is fantastic for starting your viewing. If anyone has problems additional information is available on the Meade website. I am a very satisfied customer. Somtimes products from Fingerhut do not have a high level of quality, this one does.
