Not what I'd hoped for

"Let me start with a good note. The dresser came sooner than planned (which I was happy about). It was packed very nicely and securely in the box. (Very heavy though-we had to carry inside piece by piece.)
The directions are pictures only-no words, which my husband was upset about at first, but said it was still very easy to put together.
However, the quality, in my opinion, is not at all what I had expected. Especially for the price. Boards split in at least 3 different places. It is all particle board. Some chipped off while my husband was screwing on the back panel. He was very careful while assembling everything and all this still happened. Also, the door doesn't have any kind of latch. You just have to tighten the hinges to where you want it to stop. The drawers have space between them, they don't line up as shown in the picture.
If it had not taken him so long to put together, wasn't so close to my due date, and wouldn't be such a pain to return, we would be returning it and getting our money back.
However, to look at, it is very pretty. I was just hoping for something with a little better quality considering the price."
