Looks okay, NOT functional
"Let me start off by saying the finished product looks nice. The cherry is a nice shade, the black is solid. But if you were like us and don't get the proper number of end pieces then it starts to lose its charm. The table is ridiculously small. Don't think that you will ever fit more than just 4 plates maximum on this table at a time. Then, the person sitting at the short bench side will have to contend with their knees constantly knocking into the cute little trestle decoration on the leg of the table. We just removed it altogether because it just kept falling off anyway. That same person will never be able to be that close to the table because the table leg is so close to the edge of the table. Weight limit is also an issue. We had someone 200lbs sitting on one bench. That person lifted a 20lb child onto his lap and CRACK! split the small bench down the center. Apparently, the weight limit for the smaller bench is LESS than 220lbs. No telling the weight limit for the larger bench... We are dealing with this set for now but it will definitely be replaced once we have the spare money."

beautiful but cheap
"This set is absolutely beautiful but it is poor quality, definitely a bad investment for my $400.00. The table and the bench are both quite wobbly. I would send it back but it would cost me a fortune to do so and I can't afford that. I doubt if these two pieces last until the set is paid off. I am disappointed in Fingerhut...which has never happened before."

predrilled holes, and cracked pieces
"I received the nook in three different pieces. The first two pieces were the bench and the table. There were no issues. These were all in perfect shape. I still would have liked pre-drilled holes for the places where screws go. The dowels (sp) were a little big for most of the pre-drilled holes. Hammering them in concerned me because of the possibility of the wood splitting. The bench and table took all together about 40 minutes. The corner piece came on the third day. I unpacked all the pieces. The short part of the bench seat was cracked on one corner. It looked like it would be ok. I'm not sure it would be worth to return the whole thing. I'm not sure they would be able to return that one piece. Least of my worries. I got to the end of the set up. The two pieces that hold the corner piece together. This is where my headaches began. One of the pieces with the dowels (sp), was exactly 1/4 inch off. Again, drill new holes or dismantle the hole corner piece after 60 minutes of assembly. I forged ahead. The same pieces caused more headaches. There are holes under the corner platform holding the corner pieces up. Again no pre-drilled equaled split wood. Yes, split wood. Again disassemble or just forge ahead. There were a couple of other pieces that split a little on the dowels getting slightly hammered in. Over all I gave it 2 stars because of the assembly. Overall look, about 3 shakey stars. Degree of difficulty on a scale to 5, I'd give it a 3.5 because of the issues with unpredrilled holes. I may recommend it to a friend because I would help them."
