"Ladies and Gentlemen I cannot stress enough to ALWAYS READ charging procedure for ANY new electronic device you purchase. With this "Beast" the same applies. Even though most of us guys think we don't need to. I learned long ago the hard way to always read the manual. I read reviews on this unit where people complained that it does not hold a charge well. I can almost guarantee the proper charging procedure was not followed or it was defective. Let me explain. On "The Beast" in the manual it says to charge from the side 110v pop out prongs for 36hrs before using at all! Okay after about 12-15hrs the battery charge level will be completely lit indicating that it is full. DO NOT UNPLUG AND USE THIS BEAST WITHOUT CHARGING FOR 36HRS EVEN THOUGH THE BATTERY LEVEL HAS SHOWN FULL FOR THE LAST 18HRS. If you do not let it charge the first time for 36hrs from the side 110v pop out prongs then it will never hold a decent charge. You only have to do this once. After using the pack I usually use the included 110v trickle charger if I don't need power right away and when using that trickle charger it IS okay to unplug when battery level is fully lit.
The only reason why I did not give it 5 stars is the side pop out prongs are very delicate and you have to use a standard 2 prong 110v home extension cord to charge it. You must be very careful with these prongs. Make sure they are fully popped out before attempting to plug it to the extension cord. In fact the first one had to go back because the prongs are that delicate. If you make sure they are indeed fully popped out with a click as they snap in place, then gently plug the extension cord in and charge for 36hrs you will be just fine and will be amazed at all that "The Beast" can do and the battery will have a long life if you treat it right. If you have ever had a wireless phone that had great battery life at fist but quickly wouldn't hold a charge well then you know It might be because some phones you MUST unplug when it's full or the battery will get cooked and not hold a charge well ever again. This is why it is so important to ALWAYS refer to the manual for proper charging procedure. And with "The Beast" it tells you to charge for 36hrs but it DOES NOT tell you that the battery level will show full long before that however you must leave plugged in for the full 36hrs for the VERY FIRST CHARGE.
I'm into Radio Controlled models and this "Beast" is awesome field power for charging packs and running field equipment. A fan when it's hot. The boom box that usually takes 10"D" sized batteries and lasts about 5-6hrs can now play all day off "The Beast" too. I even went a step further and dug out my solar charge controller so I can hook up my panels and most of my electronics will use that power while preserving the battery and charging the battery when the "Beast" doesn't have a large load drawing from it.
Now that I have one I'm not sure how I lived with out it. And I have yet to run it totally dead on my days at the lake or park. Usually I have three battery bars out of ten still lit and then when I'm home I will trickle charge it. The charging options are awesome too. You can plug it into your running car via included 12v cigarette lighter plug and in 6-8hrs it will be fully charged from fully drained. Every thing on it works great too. I have not tried the compressor yet but in the manual it does say to never run it more than 10minutes at a time. Let it cool a bit then continue. Manuals are so important because it's possible that if instructions were not followed running the compressor more than 10min might break the compressor.
It jump starts many cars before even coming close to halfway full.
If you are planning to run a fan or tv there are a few things to know. Any fan is going to make a little "electronic" noise when plugged in and is on. It is to be expected unless you have very expensive inverter
technology. I am told by everyone who knows about inverters that the noise is normal and does not cause damage. I urge you to research it yourself so you can decide. I've never had a problem. I just turn the fan speed up so I don't hear it and when back on house power the fan is quiet. But I have run my PS3 and 22" flat screen for about 90minutes when the power was out and it only used 2 battery bars.
So if it were not for the delicate 110v pop out prongs I would certainly given "The Beast" a 5+ star rating.

"I take this beast everywhere. If I switch vehicles I take this with me. I was out with my daughter it was really cold out. My van battery was dead. I got the beast out. While she stayed warm in the van I hooked the jumper cables to the battery and on the 3rd crank the van fired up. It paid for itself that cold Indiana night as far as I'm concerned."

Beast power pack-best product ever
July 14, 2013
"This is one of the handiest products I have ever found. If it needs power, this may be the best thing to get. You charge it up, then you can use it for 12 volt items, and even 110 volt household products. I use it when we have a power failure at home to power medical products that need the electricity. It is very handy. It does 15 things! It does have enough power to run my medical devices overnight, or till the power comes on. It has 5 volt to recharge phones, 12v, and 110 volts. It can recharge from your car, or plug it in, or even solar recharge! It also has a air compressor!
Heck, read the article! It is kinda pricy, but you get what you pay for. I bought thebest, and do not regret it one bit. You can even recharge a power chair with this! This is awesome! You will ddefinitely kick yourself if you buy something different. I cant say enough good about this, so I will shut up for now!
